Some Piggy little princess stories!

Well what a creative week we've had.  Half the class have been reading and studying the book "The Paper bag Princess" by Robert Munsch and the other half have been reading "Piggybook" by Anthony Browne.  These two fabulous stories have stimulated a lot of discussion and lead to interesting interpretations when we changed scenarios.

Yesterday students were paired with one person from each book and they read their stories to each other and then had to write a story together that combined the themes of both books.  The results are very clever and quite funny.

Enjoy

The Piggy Princess by Lachlan and Felix

The pig was captured by a snake and taken to the snake’s lair.
“Save the pig,” said the princess.
“I will save the pig,” said the mystery voice.
Then the mystery voice came out from hiding he was wearing a cape and chain armour
“Help me,” said the pig.
“I’m trying and where are you,” said the mystery voice.
When he came out of the bush he was a knight from another castle, unfortunately the pig was stuck in the snakes lair.
“No,” yelled the knight.
The pig was going to be cooked for the snake’s dinner, suddenly a whole group of knights came and broke in the snake’s lair to save the pig. Suddenly the snake appeared out of nowhere with her babies. The snakes were venomous so they had to be careful. Later they beat the snake in a hard battle, but they saved the pig and the pig was safe.

The Paper Bag Piglets
A story by Isabella and Luke

Once there were four piglets. The dad pig’s name was Ronald and the mum pig’s name was Elizabeth. The children were Simon and Patrick .

The children were so greedy that their mum could not stand it. She rang a dragon and asked it to adopt them. One hour later the dragon knocked on the door and said, “GIVE ME THE CHILDREN NOW OR I WILL BLOW FIRE ON YOU.”

The dragon flew away with the children.  Then the parents cried, “Why did we give the dragon our children?”

Dad came up with a plan. The plan was to get dressed up in a piggy costume and sneak past the dragon to get the children back.  So mum distracted the dragon while dad climbed up the tower. The tower was very high and Dad nearly slipped off the edge.

Then dad went in the tower and sent the children, one by one, down the rope to safety.

Before he left the tower he put a big bomb in the dragon’s bed. Then he ran home with the children. That night the bomb exploded and the dragon was never seen again.

The Paper bag Pigs

By Isaac and Andrew

Once upon a time there was a family of pigs with two slack children who liked to play with paper bags all day and they used it for clothing while their parents played tennis. They lived in a wonderful house with a spa and a beach chair.

One day a dragon stole the whole family and pulled them by the hair. The dragon took the children and the parents to his evil lair at McDonalds. The dragon put the family in a massive burning fryer.
Meanwhile, the dragon went to an auction and bought a granny flat that cost $34,500.  It had a Ferrari, a Hot tub, a throne and a personal butler but at the dragons evil lair the family had an escape plan.

The family used spare paper bags to get out of the evil lair. The dragon went back to his evil lair. He was laughing with a dirty smile.  When he got there he said, “WHAT? Where are they?”
He looked to his left.
“Those dirty children used paper bags to escape! No!”
“Yes! We escaped,” said the family and they lived happily as pigs ever after.
